Furnished Memories is a Family Owned Photography business started by my wife Janet and myself David. With over 50 years combined photography experience we are passionate about capturing and preserving those precious once in a lifetime memories. Because of this passion we offer a variety of ways for you to preserve your memories but none more important than offering you long lasting prints, photo books, calendars and many others from our fun memory-capturing session. A little about Myself my passion for photography started on the floor underneath the sink of my parents darkroom playing while my parents developed and printed the family photos. I wanted so bad to take my own photos that I saved all my birthday and allowance money for 2 years to buy my first camera a Kodak X30 point and shoot. For my High School Graduation I received my first SLR camera the more I took pictures the more fun I had, one day when visiting a camera store I noticed a help wanted sign so I inquired and got the job all with in about 20 minutes. I soon met a wedding photographer who taught me lighting and composition and hired me to photograph weddings and portraits. I continued working at the camera store where I sold supplies and equipment to professional photographers and the 2 major newspapers in Chicago. After 6 years of selling to major companies I was promoted to a product and sales training position for Wolf Camera where I was involved in creating and teaching a series of photography classes, helping people learn how to capture better memories. While teaching these classes I realized that a photo is the only way to capture a moment in time that can never be reproduced again. This is why I’m so passionate about helping you to capture and preserve your memories through Furnished Memories. I look forward to building lasting memories with you and your family.
Janet bought her first camera when she was 16 using money from her paper route and has been the family photographer ever since. She has shot many weddings for friends and family members and since 2010 has been taking family portraits she started with Ritz Camera’s on location photography business. And now can’t wait to continue taking memories for you and your family with Furnished Memories.
